Gee, today we bottled 36 cases of 2025 Chardonnay and 61 cases of 2025 Fresco Rose. As usual, the day I bottle, the wine is released, come and get it.

Basically it is about Bordeaux, my first love of wine. The article was so surprising! They said, even the restaurants in Bordeaux, customers are not drinking much Bordeaux. Even restaurants all over the area do not have Bordeaux on their menu. I did not know Bordeaux was out of favor. I sure do not enjoy it anymore.
I worked in the financial district in San Francisco and after work I would head over to a shop in the area and pick up about 3 half bottles of Bordeaux and come home to my house in Fairfax up 120 stairs and taste them blind. By the end of 1969 I realized I was an expert on Bordeaux wines. I new all the great vintages, I knew all the wines I loved. I started collecting Bordeaux every day and when the 1970 Bordeaux was released in 1973 there was an abundance of wine, enough so prices were inexpensive. I picked up a few bottles Ch Latour at $17 a bottle. I had heard the French thought the vintage was too much like California wine so they marked them so low that one time I drove to Sacramento, 60 miles away to pick up 20 cases of a wine I knew at $40 a case! The 1970 vintage was so good all the wine tasted great. When I moved here in 1979 I had enough Bordeaux for every day for 3 years, over 1200 bottles and I consumed them all except for a few bottles still in my cellar. Then I found Zinfandel and Petite Sirah and started making my own amateur wine. I have tried a few Bordeaux in the last few years and did not like them, fortunately I have the Coffaro palate.
Wednesday July One, 2026
Yesterday I had a front tooth removed. When I got home, I started with an IPA, then some sparkling wine and at 5 out on our deck a Campari and Gin and then I had enough, fell asleep at 9. I took a 600 mg Ibuprofen and I could stand the pain after all that alcohol. Sure the doctors say no alcohol and drugs with cold presses, not for me. After all that alcohol the blood stopped. The extraction doctor Wandel and my dentist Ken were conferencing in person for 20 minutes and I won! I want an implant on the one they took out. Ken wanted a bridge so today Ken is going to prep for two crowns one on each side of the hole where my front tooth used to be, so hopefully I will be able to eat tonight.OH BTW, it took Wandel 20 minutes to get the tooth out, after a lot of grinding!!! Next week I go back to Wandel for my implant. And I have many cavities, Ken says from dry mouth. Gee could it be Keytruda that caused more problems? The cavities require nanny more teeth to be pulled, and two more implants and thus more crowns. It looks like over 20 grand will have to be found somewhere. Do I sell more Tesla stock?

This has been tough several days but I am still kicking and enjoying life, especially making great wine. Last week I had a tooth taken out. I know this is a side effect of Keytruda. As you remember last year within one month my vision in my left eye went from 20-30 to 20-200. I looked it up and that is a side effect of Keytruda. This week I had 3 teeth pulled, needles in my neck to burn the nerves, which is already helping. Then today an hour long sonogram on my legs and tomorrow I see my primary doc, too many medical appointments. Oh and next week I will have two more teeth pulled and that should be the end!
