    Sorry Dave, but something in the phrase, "screw cap" really made me cringe when I read it in the diary. I'm not sure what it is but I can tell you this. Screw caps for me take a little piece of the romance out of buying a bottle of wine. I know what my subconscious does when I see one, I pretend it's not there. I never reach for a bottle of Bonny Doon or some of the others just for that reason.

    Now I know I probably sound like a bit of a hypocrite here, because I recently decided to only bottle with synthetic corks....but at least they LOOK the part. And furthermore, they SOUND the part. The idea of that tinny crack, crack, crak as the plastic breaks apart is a total turn off to this 53 year old 30 year wine lover.

    Oh well, just my two cents worth.
