Pat went with me today to see the cardiologist. He said I do not need to take more aspirin but he did want me to take more statin to lower my cholesterol way below normal. He was not concerned about my alcohol. He was not concerned about my exercise, do what I feel fine with.
He did consult the doctor who did the first evaluation on my calcium score and they both were concerned about the high score of 500, the highest he has ever seen. So he did consult with the doctor who did the calcium evaluation and now that I have had two more tests they both say
I should have an Angiogram and see if I need a stent. It could be as early as Friday. I asked him if I needed a second opinion and I said it may take until February and he said "That would be a mistake" They will call me tomorrow to see if Friday will work, otherwise it will be early in January.
He also was not concerned about my low BP at this time of night, now 72/45 right now, I told him 90/50 on average in the evening............

So you know I try to only state the facts in this diary so I want to be honest. I will have an Angiogram on Friday and they may do more, like a angioplasty. Look it up if interested. I should be home for some wine in the evening if everything goes well. So
We had a great Rack of Lamb tonight, but I still left off most of the fat in the dish. It consisted of roast potatoes and broccolini and some whole garlic. I am getting into whole garlic since it does not get lost in the cooking.
Tomorrow they are requiring me to have a covid test and then I need to stay home........gee I only want to stay home except to Safeway to buy groceries.......O yes we have to stop at Safeway tomorrow before I get the test
OhgOH, I hear today I my get my new Model S in the next two weeks...............

As some of you know I have made a lot of money in TSLA in short term trades. I still have 1650 shares long term. So I am setting back from trading short term, it takes a lot of time and I have made enough to buy all the high end wine I want and my wine stands up to any of them.....yes I have paid as much $600 for some of the wines................
So Tesla stock has been down in the last month after going up to a new high. It was way down today and recovered to a gain. I still think over the long term, like 5 years TSLA will be the largest company in the world.
That said I have seen I may get my new Model S within the next two weeks...........time will tell.........
I have mention the awesome quality of Blu-ray audio. I keep looking for some and so far, Stones Let it Bleed I think is the one I have that was incredible. Then there is Elton John Yellow Brick Road I think?, so the one which starts off with A Funeral For A Friend...........
Funeral For Friend is the best audio ever.......Then now I have been listening to one I did not know I had.........Abbey Road in Blu-Ray audio. The bottom line........if you have great speakers like I have You will HEAR the difference, even with average speakers.............
Today I went down to have my Covid test, required for my admission to the hospital FOR my Angiogram. I will hear the results tomorrow, but I suspect I will be cleared.
It was easy and I asked the guy why it was so easy and he said some people stick it all the way to your sinuses and he did not think that was necessary, nice young guy.
So 80/43 BP now at 7:30........I need to go up for more Blu-Ray AUDIO

I am off tomorrow for my procedure so I will be back tomorrow in this diary to give a report. Pat says I may not be ready to do a great dinner but I know I will...........yes I may not be home until late in the day.............

Brad speaking: Dave went for the angiogram and the docs decided he needed cardiac surgery which they did immediately. He's recovering well and may be home Thursday. I expect he'll have a lot to say when he gets back.

I am alive. The pain is mostly in my upper back right in back of my chest. My legs hurt a little and my chest hurts when I cough. I refused to take anymore Oxicodone since I thought it was not helping. I did find some in my frig from the past knee surgeries so I took 3 hours ago and I do admit it is helping my upper back. It also makes me a little light headed so I should be ready for some alcohol at 5...........oh
So last night i got home and eventually fixed some calamari with onions and tomatoes, so good!! The food in the hospital was inedible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first meal I had was a piece of white fish cooked so much I had to pick it up since it could not be cut. I tasted and it had the constancy of shoe leather and they call this healthy food??????????? I could go on but nothing after that was much better except some grapes..........
So I sat down last night and poured my self a shot of gin. It took a while to get it down since I had trouble swallowing and had to cough.......it hurts so much but I was told coughing was good since it would clear out my lungs. Then I tried to taste a small glass of white wine but again had trouble swallowing so no wine last night. I will try again tonight with a little more alcohol since it does help the pain BUT I have to be careful not to get dizzy and fall down. I will be careful.
Last night I sat down to look at the Raider game from last Monday, yes I had not heard the results. I was unhappy since the recording was only 3 hours SO I missed the last field goal, the Raiders won with no seconds on the clock............
Here is a picture of my right hand showing all the damage they did when poking many times. The left hand and whole arm is even worse. BTW, the nurses were so nice!!!!!! They have to put up with a lot. I would like to get some money to them but it is only possible to donate to the hospital. I mentioned many times to every nurse, to come up for some free wine............
7+pm......
Uninterrupted sleep, never happened. As you see they poked many many times to put an IV in and also to draw blood. There was even a time when they had trouble finding a place because the blood would not flow.
The first 48 hours I had no sleep. Finally I convinced them I needed my Benadryl and then I got some sleep after that but they kept on coming in at 8 times a day and night to check on things.
Tonight I feel like a wimp. I did consume 2 ounces of Gin and one ounce of white wine and I may have an ounce or two of IPA tonight while looking at the 49ner game. I had a great Meat ball pasta tonight and a small salad, tomorrow we are having Minestrone soup and Saturday turkey........
While down in my hospital bed, I realized on Monday I had to make decisions for the winery and especially my new Model S delivery. I tried and successfully looked up my App for Tesla and found out My Model S was ready to be picked up. I also started the labels for our bottling in January. It took a lot of time, but gee I had plenty and thanks to Jose and Pat we are on track but......
The Model S pick up was another natter. They want me to come down and pick it up 65 miles away in Marin County.....my doctors say I can not drive for a month because if there were an accident my chest would explode after the airbags went off. SOSOSO
Bryan will pick up the new Model S tomorrow and they will send some paper work back with him. Actually Bryan will probably be driving the S more than I will over the years........He wants to Drive My Car...........

Susie and Bryan did not pick up My Car on Friday. I could not find my proof of title in time. It may be picked up tomorrow.
My coughing which hurts so much has subsided finally this morning. My pain level is better also but I am still taking Oxicodone in the evening and Hydrocodone with Tylenol during the day. I actually said I did not want any drugs when I left the hospital but the ones I found in my frig work just fine for 4 hours or so. We will ask for some fresh ones tomorrow from my primary doctor.
Yesterday I did have some turkey with all the trimmings and then some left overs at lunch today. Tonight Bryan is making us some Pizza, one with all Whole Wheat dough. I will put mostly olive oil, tomatoes and some Parmesan cheese on it.
I did consume a little more alcohol last night but I found it did not help my pain much. I have not been taking any pain medications from 3pm until 9pm. It is strange but all the alcohol including a small glass of my Block 4 have been tasting more intense. I assume I may be back to normal in a while but who knows, it would be interesting though to taste more.........
Some of my friends and relatives want to talk to me personally but I do not want to repeat on the phone what I have said in this diary. I am more than happy to answer any questions in emails............

Susie just got back from picking up my New Tesla Model S and put on the first 80 miles. It is neat!! I can not drive it for another 2 weeks, but I can take a look at the new design. I was pleasantly surprised to see Black pop out handles rather the silver in the last 3 I have owned AND of course the new display and steering yoke, rectangular not round. I have not sat in it yet so I cannot say much more. Bryan is off to Safeway right now to have a test drive and he is picking up my new pain pills rather than the old 5 year+ I have been using in the last several days. The pain in my chest and especially my upper back is still strong.............
7+pm......I made myself a great Farro turkey something, not a soup but some great juice from THE turkey stock Susie made up in the last two days. I had a sandwich this morning and I will have more left overs tomorrow, probably for dinner also. I did have a little more alcohol, 2 shots and a little white wine. I really enjoyed all but I can say the oxycodone Bryan picked up today will be welcomed soon. I have not had any pain killers since noon so it will be time to look at NFL and some politics.
Last night I saw 60 minutes. It was about Global Warming and the effect it is having on wine making. Mostly it was centered in Europe. I knew about England years ago, they could not make decent wine until the last 10 years. They are now making Sparkling wine...........
It was also interesting to hear about other countries problems during these high temps in the last 20+ years. Here on my property, I have seen no change since I have been here in 42, now.....Except the temps during the summer daytimes have gone up on average 5 degrees, but we still on average have harvested at the same time.

First of all I am still alive!!!!!
That said my pain in certain places has not improved!!!!! That said, I am not coughing as much so maybe I am feeling more pain in certain places. I am a logical person, but today and last night I had a lot of pain in my right shoulder. I now think and hope it has been because I have been using my right arm too much for lifting and pushing so I am trying to use my left arm more...........
My new Model S Tesla is here but I have not been able to drive it for another week or so. My operation was on the 17th and I was told not to drive or lift or push for 3 to 4 weeks.....That said......I have been sitting in the new model S today and yesterday and had to pull my self out with my right arm.......Dave.......don't do that again for a while!!!!!!!
I was in the new Model S because Bryan and I have found out one of the 2 key Fabs was not working. I called Tesla and the guy treated me like an idiot.......I told him in my last 3 Teslas, I had only the key, now they have A phone app to get in and drive and also A card............Long story.................I found out they have to send someone out here to replace it !!!!!!!!!! what is wrong with Amazon or mail????
In the mean time I am ordering some new wheels for my New Model S......long story

Great dinner tonight, I backed away from Carbs so nice simple Salmon, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower made by Kate and Bryan. Kate is ready in four weeks to give birth to her first child, a girl.......
My primary doctor and I are not seeing eye to eye again. Remember she is the one to prescribe all these new tests to see if I needed open heart surgery!!! Sure you can think it was necessary but what if it wasn't ?? I know I should trust her and thank her...........
One of the reasons we have not been on the same wave length....she is totally against any alcohol......sure she may say different, but today she was verbally upset I have been consuming a small amount of alcohol lately.......look back in my diary, I have been consuming much less and I have trouble tasting my red wine. I was told by my surgeon: he liked the fact that my blood was thinner than normal so is that because of consuming some alcohol over the years. Even my doctor who was concerned about my diet said a glass of wine is OK........But my primary made it clear today and in the past she is against alcohol........sure I am sure they all may interpret what I say here in different ways..............The bottom line is alcohol as I told my primary keeps me away from Oxi meds for now 8 hours........I stopped taking Oxi at 12 noon and it is now 8pm......
Interesting she said I could take some Ibuprofen when every thing I have read says not to take for several weeks, it has now been 2 weeks. SO I tried one Ibuprofen and it helped ALSO BTW she said the Oxi she prescribed was half the strength of what I have been taking that has been working for me. Yes, 5 year old, Hydro with Tylenol has been working for four hours and she said it is twice the intensity of the Oxi..........that is when the subject of Ibuprofen came up, she said it may be a way to avoid Tylenol. I could go on, but I need a break........yes IPA's are not sitting well also, l but one ounce helps😀.....................
