Sunday March 1, 2015 I admit I am only thinking about my diary tonight so please excuse me for this first part, but do not miss the last part.......... I feel I am always in a crossroads........I feel maybe I will lose more than I want. I know I still remember everything, but what happens when I can't.............. Of course I am talking when I am 105................ Yesterday, big news............and tonight I have changed again. I like changes not like Pat. Pat does not want to see old movies so we have agreed to not see them together. She likes new movies so I am still trying to figure her out after over 40 years. We have to change and we have. Pat likes Giants games so I get my escape at home to see old movies so tonight I am looking at the first movie of James Dean and Natalie Wood at her finest::::::::Rebel With Out A Cause, 1955 when I was 12 years old and she was 17 about, ;look at his movie it is a classic................ Cindi has accepted a job at a barrel place in Cloverdale where she lives so we wish her luck. Cindi and Steve were great and I have missed Steve and now Cindi. Steve had an operation so we hired Cindi after Steve now we have to find someone to take over for Cindi. We are not expanding so maybe we should just look for some one for the weekend. Pat was not expecting this so we hope we will not get more surprises so as I have implied, Matt will be asked if he wants to stay............I am sorry but this is going to be an interesting time in the next few weeks. We have options but we are looking for more. I love options...........the more the merrier Tuesday March 3, 2015 8:00 Pm: It is after a great dinner of braised ribs I am now trying to figure out which movie to see, but I am writing now at 7:30 so I have time. Of course the most important is the Barrel Tasting. Each year it is our biggest two day sales. We like people coming in here. I know I have said some wineries around here do not want young routy people. I understand their concerns but really........I am sorry I wonder around the tasting area all day to see what we need ..........I like it........I am the go for. I have said before the future is young people having a good time in Dry Creek Valley, but we have a responsibility to watch out for someone who has too much to drink. I am happy to say I have not seen anyone here in the last two years who has been out of control.......... Now at 7:35 I have to think again, sorry this is my diary............. So I think there is one more movie to watch that was nominated.........I need to go soon.........8pm is the time Last year we did $50,000 for both weekends. We have done better in the past but the Wine Road charges more now so less people are coming..................Remember I am upset because this event was free before. Our sales were better then but there were far less wineries. The Wine Road is not encouraging Vans, small buses or especially large buses to come here. I have had three young people call and ask ""how many people are allowed in your place at one time?""". All three were very happy to hear from me: "We have a large Parking lot, we allow any size bus, you are welcome." Wednesday March 4, 2015 Pat and I ended up watching the Foxcatcher last night and the night before we watched Whiplash so that concluded all the nominated movies we wanted to see. Like I said last night, the Barrel Tasting event starts this weekend. We have talked to Matt and he is happy to continue to help make great wine for us. Since Cindi is leaving we have decided to look for a person to work for two days a week, preferably the weekend. Catalina has agreed to work an extra day a week and take over producing the labels for our shipping so we are in good shape............ | |
