Sunday December 9, 2012

10:00: Pm:

There was pizza again tonight, every Sunday even in the Winter I do Barbequed Pizza. Today was perfect, to cook since we were up to 70 high today but it is already 55 now but that is warm so we are do for another day of good weather. After this spell, we will not see 70 again until March, maybe February in every 7 years.

I have to think about the next few weeks.....it will be intense....I have to cope more than PACQUIAO, I saw the fight. Of course we have our families, it is always fun, easy. Then we have our open House on the 15th,, that will be more of an adventure.

Before then I have My accountant Dennis who will give me advice about taxes. I pay my fair share, through payroll taxes.

I have to get my fix so i will be down at Costco Thursday and spend some money. We all have to help out the economy..............

Then we are down in The City to greet Susie on her 25th birthday.

The most important........I have to start blending..........we have already cooked the wine............and now we have to Cuvee...........?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuv%C3%A9e

The most interesting part of this link follows.......

  • In some regions, the term cuvée is used to specifically indicate a blend, i.e., a wine produced from a mixture of several grape varieties, rather than a varietal wine. This is especially true outside of France.
  • In Champagne and sometimes in other regions producing sparkling wines by the traditional method, the cuvée also refers to the best grape juice from gentle pressing of the grapes. In Champagne, the cuvée is the first 2,050 liters of grape juice from 4,000 kg of grapes (a marc), while the following 500 litres are known as the taille (tail), and is expected to give wines of a more coarse character. Many Champagne producers pride themselves on only using the cuvée in their wine.
  • The term can also be applied to beer or chocolate to refer to a batch that is blended by the manufacturers to produce a certain taste.

9:30 Pm: I am a failure lately in many ways but I need to at least take time for my diary. I want to document a few things from the recent past.

Tonight is another time as all transitions in a day become a change. I am having fun reading Ayn Rand "The Fountain Head". The characters, most of them are way too intelligent in conversation, unreal, I am sure in the real world. I love the book for what it is...........I am only through about 60%. The Kindle tells you how far you are through the book, but of course we miss that we can't just look at the book and see how far we are along...............Kindle!!.......actual references to the book by pages, would be great......

I like reading on the Kindle and I am sure I am one of the very few who have a Paper White, just received today. I will escape later to see The Fountain Head in the dark with Paper White.

We are gearing up for our party Saturday. You are all welcome. We will have a chilli contest and you can vote on your favorite between...... Matt, Catalina, AND Cindi will go up against me. Blind chilli and Block 4.

This week as usual was intense, somewhat because of the last 10 episodes of Breaking Bad season 4. It is about cooking but not about making alcohol. The sound is awesome and in Blu Ray the picture can not be beat.

Earlier this week I complained about my hearing aids and now have new options at one provider and picked up a demo at my dependable provider. Yes I have two providers. I am hearing well tonight.

I am told I have the start of cataracts so I went for a new look for my vision correction today. I went to Costco and saw their provider. I was told I am now 20-60 in my left eye and 20-40 in my right. I used to be 20-40 and 20-30 so I am doing fine. The cataracts will have to be addressed in the next few years but for now I picked up from Lens Crafters some gasses for the computer and driving glasses. Earlier I ordered a first pair at Costco for $179 but was told I could come back in two weeks and pick up the glasses. I went over to Lens Crafters, referred by Costco and picked up my new glasses from start to finish in less than 3 hours, no appointment needed..................but I paid $452. I am still happy. This is the first time since I had my Lasik, in 2001 that I have paid for glasses. I was 20-400 before Lasik.

I have started blending in an Excel spreadsheet and I am excited.

We also today completed pouring 30 yards of new concrete. I am so happy..............less lower back problems for me  !!!!!!!!!!!  Another eventful week.........tomorrow is another day
