BEHIND THE BARREL NEWS
Spotlight and Wine Quip!
Matt’s Craftily Scribed Perspective
Holy July the fourth! It’s already time to bust out some amazing grilling and say cheers to the anniversary of our beautiful U.S.of A. In recognition of some excellent weather and an amazing looking 2012 in the vineyard, we wanted to have a sale on one of our Zinfandels. Speaking of Zinfandel, we take our daily walks through the vineyard and are quite impressed with the rugged health of our old vines. They are looking as hearty as ever and we can’t wait to start making wine with them this fall. Come on harvest!
The 2010 Zinfandel (Russian River) 16mo is great wine. It oozes blackberry flavors and is peppered with oaky richness. Although bottled recently in February 2012, it drinks very nice right now although we advise holding onto it for a little while longer. Throw together a delicious BBQ’d garlic chicken and pasta salad to pair up with a glass or two of this. Or on the flipside, I had raw oysters with hot sauce, that I followed with a glass of this Zin, a roasted red pepper and grilled mushroom burger, which was accompanied by hand-cut fries. Recently we featured this wine to our wine club members and now would like to offer it to all of our customers on sale for half off! Oh, those wily Coffaros...
Here is the plan. Take the regular price per case, $360 prior to any discount, and chop it down to the July 4th sale price of $180 with free shipping to all states as allowed by law (no additional discounts will apply). That’s twelve bottles for your enjoyment (that's a whole case at just $15 a bottle!).
This special will run for a limited time only, beginning Monday, July 2nd and wrapping up Wednesday the 11th. It is on a first come basis, so when we are out, we’re out. We are planning to ship on two separate dates. When you place your order, you will have a choice of free shipping on July 16 or October 1. UPDATE: The Zin is sold out!
Thanks for being such great customers and friends to us. Hopefully this sale will help you keep your cellar well stocked with a wine that you will appreciate sharing with others.
Enjoy and Cheers!
